From the window to the horizon: 4 ways to travel with children this spring

Spring is the official season for "premieres": the first long trip of the year, the first short break on the coast, or the group outing that you've been waiting for for weeks.

For a child between four and eight years old, the journey by other means of transport is almost more exciting than the destination itself. But how can we make every journey a special experience while also protecting their eyes from the bright lights of the train station?

Here are the most important tips for making the best use of the 4 main means of transport:

🚗 1. The car: Our expedition capsule

It is suitable as a means of transport for spontaneous weekend trips.

The challenge: Sunlight coming in through the side window. Sometimes sunshades aren't enough, and the constant glare can tire children's eyes and lead to headaches or irritability.

Tip: Make sure they have their "co-pilot kit" handy: water, their favorite cuddly toy, and a protective cover that allows them to view the scenery without squinting.

🚌 2. The bus: Sharing is also traveling

Whether it's a city bus heading downtown or a tour bus for a day trip, the bus offers a unique perspective. Children love sitting "high up" and seeing the world from above. It's the perfect opportunity to play "I spy with my little eye" and discover how the city's trees are in bloom.

🚢 3. The Ship: Saltpeter and Magical Reflections

If you are lucky enough to visit the coast this spring, a boat trip (even a short ferry ride) is an experience for all the senses.

Caution in the water: The reflection of the spring sun on the sea is much more intense than on land. Children's eyes are illuminated from above and below (by the reflection in the water), so good sun protection is essential to be able to observe fish or seagulls undisturbed.

✈️ 4. The airplane: Touching the clouds

For many children, spring means their first flight to warmer climes. Looking out the window and seeing the clouds from above is a magical experience. At 10,000 meters altitude, the sun's rays are significantly more intense, so children should be well protected in the cabin, especially if they like to sit close to the glass.

Ready for takeoff (and landing)

Family trips together mean collecting moments. At five or six years old, children begin to develop their own identity and like to wear accessories that tell a story: "These are my aviator sunglasses!" or "I'm taking my favorite car!"

When an accessory reflects their passion for cars, boats, or airplanes , it's no longer just a necessary evil, but becomes part of their adventure gear. Ultimately, it's about them feeling like the captains of their own journey, while you can rest assured they're protected from the first strong sun of the season.

Have a good trip, explorers!
